Information on differentia
Differentiae are written on staff-lines at the end of each antiphon, accompanied by the text "Euouae" or the textual incipit for the psalm. In the original Cantus index, the differentiae were assigned a two-digit identifier, with the first letter indicating the last pitch of the differentia and a numeral to distinguish between differentiae in the same mode with the same last pitch. The same system is used in the indices for A-Wda C-10, A-Wda C-11, and A-Wda D-4.
