Information on differentiae

Differentiae are written in the margins of the manuscript in adiastematic notation, sometimes in conjunction with tonary letters. For the rationale of the transcription of adiastematic neumed differentiae into pitched notation, see Rebecca Shaw's thesis. The original Cantus index for the manuscript categorizes differentiae using a combination of tonary letters and Arabic numerals, where there is no tonary letter equivalent in the manuscript.
